Born in Mar del Plata, Argentina on May 22, 1957. Married in 1983 to Vivian Gonzalez. He currently lives in Houston, Texas with his wife Vivian and their three children, Paul Andrew, Geraldine Maxine and Lawrence Derek Giannotti. Recreational interests include golf, soccer and bicycling.

Graduated from Marino Moreno High School, Mar del Plata, Argentina; received a Bachelor of Land Surveying degree in 1982 and a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Engineering in 1985 from the National University of La Plata, Argentina; also received a Master of Civil Engineering degree in 1992 from the University of Houston.

He was an Engineer-in-Training from 1987 to 1992 at S&B Engineers and Constructors, Inc., a Houston Consulting Engineering firm.
Giannotti founded AG Engineers, Inc. in 1992 and provided consulting to Airports and airlines on Jet A fueling systems.
AG Engineers, Inc. and Rosser Bovay, a division of Rosser International, Inc. merged forming Bovay Engineers, Inc. where he became Chairman and Chief Executive officer in 1996.
