The article text indicates that Spalding retired in 1950, but the Remington site gives the year as 1947. More than one source indicates his final public recital was in New York's Lewisohn Stadium before a crowd exceeding 20,000; it would probably be worth incorporating that information upon resolution of the conflict about the date.
