Albert Proud (born September 6, 1988) is an Australian rules football player for the Brisbane Lions. Proud is a Queenslander of Indigenous Australian origin.
Proud captained the Queensland Under 18 side during the national chamionships in 2005.[1]
He was taken by the Brisbane Lions in the 2006 AFL Draft, with a reputation of being a solid, hardworking midfielder with the ability to kick goals, drawing early comparisons to Byron Pickett.
After a 6 goal performance for the Suncoast Lions, Proud was called up into the senior side in round 12 against Geelong.[2] On a rain soaked day, he managed 8 disposals. The serviceable performance was enough to see his selection the next week, but after a disappointing one kick and giving away two free kicks, he was dropped from the senior side.
