NC71097 type? N71097 is a piper J-3 Cub, is this the same as NC71097? Mjroots (talk) 22:42, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
- FAA data baselink,similar to airport-data.com: FAA N71097, sold to Jim Perry.LanceBarber (talk) 18:01, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
- The "C" after the "N" stood for "standard" certificate ("The symbol appropriate to the airworthiness certificate of the aircraft ("C", standard; "R", restricted; "L", limited; or "X", experimental) followed by the U.S. registration number of the aircraft" from FAR 45.22 ) and FAA dropped the second letter... the a/c type of NC sure looks like a Cub.
