Alan Goldsher

Alan Goldsher is an author and a musician.

Goldsher is a session and touring bassist. He has worked on the Cypress Hill remix of Janet Jackson's hit "Because of Love" and on the Naughty by Nature-produced debut album by Zhane. In 1993-94, he toured and recorded the hip-hop trio Digable Planets, with whom he performed on the 1994 Grammy Awards, as well as the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, the Arsenio Hall Show, and MTV's Spring Break.

He has performed on the following albums:

  • When the Funk Hits the Fan by King Britt (1998)
  • Beyond the Spectrum: The Creamy Spy Chronicles by Digable Planets (2005)

Goldsher has written several dozen articles for Bass Player magazine. His sportswriting has been seen in ESPN.com, NBA.com, Chicago Bulls.com, and ESPN The Magazine. His book The True Naomi Story was published by Little Black Dress Books in the U.K. in July 2007; the follow-ups Reality Check and The Chef, the Waiter, the TV Star & Mr. Smith will come respectively in 2008 and 2009.

He has written a number of other books, which include:
