[edit] Work History

suggested changes:

from "He worked in television around the Cleveland and New York areas before he became a weatherman for WNBC in New York."

to: "(new paragraph)He worked for NBC O&Os WKYC-TV, Cleveland and WRC-TV, Washington before becoming a weatherman for WNBC in New York."

from: "Roker started getting more exposure, especially when David Letterman asked him to do an elevator race with him in one episode of his talk show Late Night with David Letterman."

to: "Roker started getting national exposure on the talk show Late Night with David Letterman, which taped in the studio directly across the hall from the news studio. On one occasion Letterman challenged him to an elevator race."

(consider making this a separate section, it's now under Personal Life) JimmB 04:46, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Included SNL guest appearance from 2/28/06. Too much elaboration?

The info about the shows he hosts on Food Network should probably be promoted to the career section. He hosts these programs, which makes it a significant contribution. I may rewrite this when I get a chance. --Gglockner 03:45, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] God

Why does someone on Wikipedia think Al Roker is God? Is there something about him that leads them to this conclusion? --Miked84 18:57, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] He's fat again

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qHvWII9KI8&eurl= for reference; I think this should be noted in the article Xizer 05:49, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Bahamian American?

Does this seem right? Shouldn't he be considered African American, (if it must be mentioned at all)? Apparently, he has some Bahamain heritage, but this just seems odd. Why do we designate people by the "most recent stop" somewhere in their heritage? Does he refer to himself as a Bahaman American? Arx Fortis 04:41, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Bogus info

I'm thinking this might be inappropriate...

Made a fool of himself February 11, 2007 on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, speaking of a dead Peter O'Toole and talking way too loud.

[edit] Cleaning up

I think I did the Wiki-community a great service by cleaning up this page. So much unsourced crap...for shame.

[edit] birth name?

Someone wrote here that Al's birth name is Linoleus Richards-Trajas, but I have found absoultely no source for this-only this page comes up when I Googled that name. Therefore, I deleted it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.68.54.248 (talk) 23:44, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
