Al jamiatul Ashrafia is the Largest and most respected Islamic Seminary of Sunni Barelwi Muslims of India .It is also known among AhleSunnah Circles as Oxford of Barelwis.It was established in a three-day historic educational conference held on 5th ,6th and 7th of may 1972. Most Prominent Scholars of Barelwi Movement like Mustafa Raza Khan Son of Ahmad Raza Khan and Allama Arshadul Qaudri laid the Foundation Stones with the dedicated works of Hafiz-e-Millat. The graduates from this University are well Versed in Modern and traditional Islamic Sciences.The degrees of Ashrafia are recognized by all Prominent Universities of India and abroad like Jamia Al Azhar ,Aligarh Muslim University , Jamia Millia Islamia,Delhi University,Jawaharlal Nehru University.

At this time (1421 A.H./ 2001 A.D.)there are more than 150 teachers and employees in Al-Jamiatul Ashrafia who carry out their concerned duties with deep sincerity. More than 1200 students live in the hostels. Besides them there are more than 6000 boys and girls who pursue their studies in the boys primary and high school and the girls primary and high school respectively. Al-Jamiatul Ashrafia has several branches. There are some such Madarsas whose teachers are paid by Ashrafia.
Under the able leadership of Hafiz-e-Millats worthy son, Hazrat Aziz-e-Millat Allama Shah Abdul Hafiz-Moradabadi, the chief and head of Al-Jamiatul Ashrafia, this constructive educational caravan heads towards its desired destination with utmost favour and enthusiasm.
[edit] Set up of Sunni Board
In 1992, under the auspices of Al Jamiatul Ashrafia, Mobarakpur, the Jurisprudential Board was set up as a splendid body of Muftis, envisioning it as a platform where important decisions relating to Sharia, will be finalized with consensus. The event sent waves of happiness across the Ahl-e-Sunnat. Though the body made it a point to incorporate all the renowned muftis of the sect, it was not long before a number of such bodies started mushrooming in the length and breadth of Jahan-e-Riza (the world of the followers of Imam Ahmed Riza Khan).[2]
