Al-Baath University (Arabic: جامعة البعث‎), founded in 1978, is Syria's 4th largest university and is a public university located in the city of Homs, Syria, 180 km North of Damascus. It has more than 18 faculties.

al bath university was established in 1979. It started with preexisting colleges and institutes such as the factuly of veterinarian medicin in the city of hama and the higher institute for chemical and petroleum engineering and the factuly of science in the city of Homs.

Research is a strategic target of the university. It is administrated in accordance with planes decided by various departments and approved by the sequential academic councils of the university . The aim of such research is to contribute to national development in Syria. It is divided into: Research works are conducted in basic as well as applied science.
