[edit] Early Life

He attended local public school Ferncourt and succeeded his sister Anastasia (Tasi) into becoming the public schools captain. At the tender age of 6, Aki undertook two interests. He began guitar lessons with local man Romano but soon after transferred to the much travelled Ken Burns. The other interest was football (soccer). He spend 6 less-than-prosporous years at local club Marrickville Red Devils in the CDSFA with his only title winning season being his last (U12 Division 4) in 2001 where the Red Devils overcame cyclonic winds to win 2-0 in Concord with two-goal hero Alec (son of the teams Manager) the saviour of the day. Despite a minimal role throughout the season, Aki was in high spirits, a reflection of his team ethic.

[edit] High School

The transition from primary to secondary education also prompted a shift in lifestyle and football club. Newfound best-mate Dimitri Saketas persuaded the free transfer of Casey to local rivals Belmore Hercules.
