[edit] Self-promotion
Please refrain from using Wikipedia to promote yourself, your books or your exploits. If indeed you are as important as you claim to be then you would not need to put in so many adverts. Green Giant 16:23, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
- Dear Mr. Bakshi, please stop the self-promotion via adding links or blurbs about you and your book. Further such activities will result in a block of your editing privileges. Thank you. --Ragib 15:11, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Your book - Silk Road on Wheels.... 2001
Dear Akhil Bakshi: I am really looking forward to reading your book.
I have noticed you have entered your book as a reference to quite a lot of articles just now. It is fine to put it in as a reference in an article where it has been used as part of the research for the article when it was being written. The best way to refer to it, though, is finding when you can support some statement in the article, and then enter it into the text of the article (with full details, appropriate page numbers, etc., between the "ref" and "/ref" tags and they will then show up automatically numbered below if you add the Reflist tag (both of which can be inserted by clicking on the symbols in blue in the box at the bottom of this page. This makes it all really useful and helps deflect comments that you are just advertising your own work. Check out some other articles with reflists tags for for ideas by checking there talk or discussion pages and opening it in the Edit mode. I hope I have been clear enough. If I can help in any way, do let me know.
All best wishes, John Hill 10:46, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
