What is correct: Akhmat or -ad? 82.83.17.170 19:15, 27 Jul 2004 (UTC)

In official documents, -at spelling is used. However, -ad is very widely used, especially in English (it's much more popular than -at). Dr Bug  (Volodymyr V. Medeiko) 07:26, 29 Jul 2004 (UTC)
Is this a widely made mistake or does it derive from the origen of the name? What do you mean with "official documents"? Does he spells himself -at in english? Then we may spell him like this, too. 82.83.17.103 21:44, 29 Jul 2004 (UTC)
It is a mistake, but it is so prevalent mistake that it is now the norm... Both spellings entered English through Russian. In official (governmental) documents (see for example www.chechnya.gov.ru) Ахмат (i.e. Akhmat) is used. I don't think that Kadyrov worried about English spelling of his name. In non-official Russian, -ад (-ad) is more used than -ат (-at). There are also -ед (-ed) and -ет (-et) used often. In English, -ad outperforms -at even more. Therefore, I think we should use "Akhmad Kadyrov" as the article title, but specify that official name is Akmat Kadyrov. Or maybe my paragraph is worth to be included in the article (reworded of course). Dr Bug  (Volodymyr V. Medeiko) 23:25, 30 Jul 2004 (UTC)
mhhh, difficult case! 82.83.39.51 18:13, 1 Aug 2004 (UTC)

I think there should be some mention in the article about accusations against Kadyrov's pro-Moscow militia regarding human-rights abuses against fellow Chechens.

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Kad.jpg

Image:Kad.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
