FK Akademik (Bulgarian: ФК “Академик”) is a Bulgarian football club.[1] The teams' stadium is located in the Slatina municipality of Sofia and its capacity is 20,000.

This team won the Balkans Cup in 1974. The team also participated in the UEFA Cup in 1976-77, advancing to the second round, and in 1981-82, when they were eliminated in the first round. Two players from Akademik Sofia have played for the Bulgarian national squad during a FIFA World Cup: Ivan Dimitrov in 1970 and Mladen Vasilev in 1974. Akademik returned to second tier of Bulgarian football for 2007-2008 season.
