User:Airridi/Babel proposal
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is my proposal in Korean Wikipedia for changing color in Babel templates.
- Using different colors in Babel templates xx-1, xx-2 and xx-3 to make clear language proficiency. (Korean Wikipedia uses all the same color in Babel templates xx-1, xx-2 and xx-3. #99B3FF and #E0E8FF)
- (And there are three suggestions more in this proposal which is effective in English Wikipedia, but not in Korean.)
Contents |
[edit] xx-0:unknown
xx-0 if you don't understand the language at all : using red (it implicates "attention needed") (and as same as now)
[edit] xx-1:basic
xx-1 for basic ability : using yellow (it implicates "beginner, elementary, care needed")
[edit] xx-2:intermediate
xx-2 for intermediate ability : using green (it implicates "between basic and intermediate," and green is the result from mixing each color(yellow:basic, light blue:advanced)
| en-2 | This user is able to contribute with an intermediate level of English. |
[edit] xx-3:advanced
xx-3 for adveanced level : using light blue (as same as now)
[edit] xx-4:near-native
xx-4 for 'near-native' level : using thick blue (it implicates "more proficient than xx-3 light blue)
| en-4 | This user speaks English at a near-native level. |
[edit] xx-5:professional
xx-5 for professional proficiency : using thick red (as same as now)
- 'xx-5' level is not used in Korean Wikipedia, thus this is the convention in English Wikipedia.
| en-5 | This user is able to contribute with a professional level of English. |
[edit] xx:native
xx (no hyphen or number) for native speakers : using bright blue(emerald?) (as same as now)
