The clydebank reference is surely misrepresented here. Clydebank's crowd of 29 v East Stirlingshire was when they were playing in Greenock, and a massive fan boycott of the club was well underway. There is no way a Clydebank side playing in their own area would draw this. eg. Do the Bankies get crowds of 30 in the Junior League? No. This seems to be a deliberate misrepresentation of Clydebank's status to deny any wrongdoing on the part of Airdie United.

The fact that both Airdrie and Clydebank were allowed to die is disgraceful.

[edit] Foundation date

I have re-added the correct official foundation date of the club, which is 1965, that of Clydebank. Both my edit, which places the date in the infobox, and the version by Jess Cully which included it as a footnote, also clearly acknowledge the fact that the club in its present form came in to being in 2002. On both previous occasions these edits have been removed by anonymous pasers-by, I would guess Airdrie fans who don't want to acknowledge the way AUFC emerged by killing off Clydebank and would, naturally, prefer to think of the club purely as a successor to Airdrieonians. I think its important that both dates have equal prominence in order to accurately reflect the club's origins. -- Jellyman 07:46, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
