Talk:Aircraft structures

[edit] Honoring the article's title
Aircraft structures is very distinct topic from "methods of manufacturing" and so the article lead may need to be changed. Manufacturing methods deserves its own tree of articles.
Aircraft structures should not be limited to only classic structures; non-classic aircraft structures are just as valid foci as classic aircraft structures.
The structures of any aircraft properly come under the umbrella of "aircraft structures." Structures for scale and toy aircraft, structures for kites--small and industrial, structures for hang glider, ultralights, helicopters, and boomerangs and even arrows come under the broad title of "aircraft structures." - Nimbus227, a constraining focus just on fixed-wing large aircraft would bypass the rich meaning of "aircraft structures". A separate distinct article on your interest would allow Aircraft Structures to remain a root meta article with branching to sub-articles. There are structures on rotary-wing aircraft, flexible-wing aircraft, morphable-wing aircraft, small aircraft, toy aircraft, unmanned aircraft, etc. Have you considered an article of title:
Structures of large fixed-wing aircfaft or something like that? Visiting readers to Aircraft structures ought to be able to reach all significant aircraft structures from the aritle as lead. Joefaust (talk) 17:55, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
