what is the political reasons leading ANA to exlude flights to taiwan from star alliance routes? Would china reject ANA flights if they include taiwan flights in their main operation? As of today, there are already chartered flights between mainland china and taiwan.

[edit] Origin of ANK?

The airline is widely known as "Air Nippon Koku" (エアーニッポン航空) and I'd always assumed that "ANK" comes from this. However, the article has been changed to state that the abbreviation ANK comes from the full name Air Nippon Kabushiki Kaisha (lit. Air Nippon corp. ltd.) -- but wouldn't that be ANKK then?
