An Airdancer (sometimes called a "skydancer", "windyman" or "flyguy") is a large inflatable device consisting of a long tubelike sleeve attached to a powered fan blower, which causes the sleeve to move in a dancing or flailing motion. Simple Airdancers resemble a vertical tube, but variants resembling humans with tube "arms" are also common. Airdancers are generally about 20 feet in total height and are often used as attention-getters for businesses such as car dealerships.

[edit] Trivia

  • A parody product similar to an Airdancer appeared on the cartoon Family Guy as "Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm-Flailing Tube Man" Which itself was a parody of a commercial selling "Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm-Flailing Tube Man" in the New England area, and in the Family Guy Star Wars spoof Blue Harvest as "Intergalactic Proton-Powered Electrical Tentacled Advertising Droid".
  • An Airdancer designed to resemble Elvis Presley was stolen in Liverpool in 2006, resulting in a human-interest story in the local press.
  • According to the manufacturer, an Airdancer sleeve will last about three months of everyday use.
