Air Commerz was set up in 1879 but did not commence operations until the summer of 1971. The airline's home base was in Hamburg, but flew out of other German airports. The flights were all charter flights. The aircraft used were the Vickers Viscount and the Boeing 707. Due to financial problems and outstanding taxes to the state, the airline went bankrupt in August 1972.
