[edit] Acting

Mann has done more than "The Big Lebowski" and the "Buffy" episode but I find the entry in the IMDB somewhat confusing. The quote in "Buffy" should be "Man, I hate playing in vampire towns", but I'm not sure of the exact wording; somebody with access to the Season Seven DVDs should be able to check this. --194.97.162.190 30 June 2005 20:39 (UTC)

I think the IMDB entry makes sense, more or less. She appears as herself in various non-fiction releases, which are now listed separately (this has changed). She appears as herself on various talk shows, and appears acting as herself on Buffy and The West Wing, which are all listed together. --Dhartung | Talk 1 July 2005 03:07 (UTC)

Didn't she also make an appearance on Saturday Night Live to sing "Voices Carry"? --Zephlon 15:45, 15 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Picture

I enjoyed the previous pictrue of Aimee, any chance of having both?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 12.41.204.3 (talkcontribs).

No. WP:FUC states that fair use material can only be used in the absence of free licensed material.--Fallout boy 23:01, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
Oh well, worth asking.

i just got into her and i think her music is great!

[edit] Spelling?

I came across a bootleg site where her name was spelled "Aimée Mann" (with an accent). Is this wrong? Can someone look into that? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Notahippie76 (talkcontribs).

Well, you can check the proper spelling (and accents) of her name by how she write's her name on her CD covers, so i don't think that she has an accent in her name ;) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.222.214.93 (talkcontribs).

[edit] Template

I created a new template for her discography at {{Aimee Mann}}, feel free to edit. Eliz81(talk)(contribs) 20:00, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Lawsuit

Does anybody have correct, citable details of Mann suing her former record company when they released a "best of" compilation without her permission? Apparently, she had a clause in her contract with them that prohibited the release of any compilations without her express approval. It should be mentioned in the article considering the stance she has taken against the corporate industry. 79.66.101.199 (talk) 22:18, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:AMROCKRGRL.jpg

Image:AMROCKRGRL.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Linking to a discography resource

I contributed by adding a new link to the musician's page. Wikipedia puts enormous weight on relying on Discogs and MusicBrainz as resources but I find that the external link I was adding [1] is as much, if not more, a useful resource to provide the user. I didn't know that this is considered 'spam' - if it is, I apologize but I think the links were reverted quickly without a second glance as to the merit of the resource. I don't know who has the better Aimee Mann page, but The Rock Hard Times is otherwise pathetic! First I tried searching for Jules Shear -- fairly obscure, but not un-notable. Nothing. Hmm. Then I tried Jonathan Richman. Almost nothing! A reference to one song! Richman has recorded perhaps 20 albums, as well as appearing in a hit movie. So I tried going semi-mainstream: Roger Waters. They listed his Pink Floyd discography, but had no reference whatsoever to his solo career. Finally, I tried The Fixx -- and this is what I got: A reference to a Metallica song called "Fixxer". Regardless of how well it documents Aimee Mann, trht.net is NOT ready for prime time. --63.25.11.98 (talk) 08:25, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
