Rodon Hotel is a traditionally built establishment, located on a mountain peak. The Hotel derives its name from the scented rose bushes that grow in abundance in the region.
[edit] Rose bushes Cultivation
Agros roses bush - of the species Rosa damascena – owe its proliferation to the late Nearchos Klirides who in 1917 as a school teacher in his native village of Agros founded the "Pupils Association for the Dissemination of the Rose bush" and introduced an incentive scheme targeting the expansion of the cultivation of the rose bush with the aim of producing rose water. According to Klirides vision, this would contribute to a substantial improvement of the standard of living of the local community [3].
In May, visitor-volunteers participate for the gathering of the roses.
