[edit] Fictional character biography
Very little has been revealed regarding Jim Burley's origins, up until the time he was hired by Penner Security Associates, an organization of mercenaries set out to kill any disposable heroes. The team first attacked Ghost Rider, who killed all the men except for Agent X, who escaped out of fear. The two met again a second time after Burley had volunteered for an experimental company giving ordinary humans mutant powers by running a special electric current through their bodies. The experiment went wrong, and Burley was believed to be dead. Instead, the electrical energy was surging through his body, giving him the ability to forcefully blast it from his hands. Ghost Rider defeated Agent X, though he was not killed. He then began leading the Next Wave into his own team of freelance mercenaries, where he set out to rid the Earth of all heroes. He has notably attacked the Avengers, Daredevil, the Punisher, and Moon Knight.
[edit] The Initiative
Jim is being considered as a "potential recruit" for the Initiative program, according to Civil War: Battle Damage Report.
[edit] Powers and abilities
After an experimental procedure, Agent X was left with the ability to fire bio-electric charges from his hands. He uses a variety of guns, weapons, and spy equipment, and is a skilled combatant and fighter with exceptional strength, agility, and durability.
