Age of Consent (song)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Age of Consent is a song by New Order. It appears on their 1983 album Power, Corruption and Lies. It is featured in the trailer of the 2006 film Marie-Antoinette. The intro is also used in an AT&T wireless commercial.

The song was supposed to be used in the film Wayne's World 2. However, the movie producers didn't have the money to pay New Order for the track so a cover version using studio musicians was used in place of the real track.

It has also been covered by numerous bands and performers, including Arcade Fire, Grant-Lee Phillips, Cienfuegos, Masters of the Hemisphere, Craig Marlowe, Electric Colony, Kii Noo, Neverending White Lights, and Thursday 29.

The song also features in the BBC documentary The Trap.
