Aftab Iqbal Shamim, born 16 February 1936 in Jhelum, Pakistan, is an Urdu language poet.

Professor Aftab Iqbal Shamim taught at Peking University for 14 years. He is now retired and spends his time writing Urdu poetry. He has put a lot of effort and thought into his work. The main theme of his poetry is making this world a better place to live. He was awarded a Pride of Performance Award in Pakistan.
