Shoud we mention RFK?

Should this really be a subcategory of "African Americans"? Many African Americans' rights activists were and are African American, but many are not. Christopher Busta-Peck | Talk 21:40, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

I have the same question. How about a new sub-category named 'African American rights activists' which would be a subcat of this cat and a subcat of 'African Americans'. Then this existing cat would lose being a subcat of 'African American'. Hmains 23:34, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

The subcategory you proposed certainly would be an improvement over the current situation. I personally feel uncomfortable with these "occupation by race" categories, but I must admit that there are already many of them. In addition to your idea, I propose renaming this category to Category:American anti-racist activists. Many activists in this category don't (or didn't) limit their fight to African Americans. (Examples include MLK and Tim Wise.) That way we also wouldn't end up with two very similar names. — Sebastian 04:27, 12 November 2007 (UTC)    (I stopped watching this page as of 01:49, 30 November 2007 (UTC).
