The most obvious problem with this list is the over-reliance on old films (only 5 films made after 1990 are on the list) and therefore it seems biased towards the "classics" and not truly on comedy. Since 1990 there have been hundreds of comedy films and many of them could easily grace this list, but the AFI has that snootiness and conservative belief that "older is better".

I had the opposite reaction: the top of the list is overloaded with crappy modern films (Tootsie ?) while many far funnier classics from the 30s and 40s are not listed. Is there an objective way to settle this argument, such as laughs/min per 1000 viewers ? 24.60.137.141 01:15, 21 September 2006 (UTC)ezracolbert@comcast.net

FARGO???? BROADCAST NEWS????? These are in the 100 funniest movies? You have GOTTA be kidding me! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.67.104.4 (talk) 17:13, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

These lists don't mean much when Fargo is 84th on the list of best all-time movies but only 93rd best comedy. If you compare the lists, some movies swap positions. Tootsie is #2 comedy and M*A*S*H is #7, but all-time M*A*S*H is #56 and Tootsie is #62.NevarMaor (talk) 13:59, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Elaboration of the above: Wikipedia does have permission to post this entire list, so don't go and delete it over copyright worries. Where are THE BLUES BROTHERS? What a terrible omission! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Foxjce (talkcontribs) 16:55, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] The Big Lebowski isn't in it, so it was made by idiots anyway.

I won't bother to put this up for well-deserved deletion, but may I ask whoever created this beauty of a list here for the encyclopedic merit of the list as such? Is the list itself notable enough to warrant a Wikipedia page of its own? —AldeBaer 05:34, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Grandma's Boy?

If this list is from 2000, how is sub-par film "Grandma's Boy" (2007) on the list? I suspect tom-foolery. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.107.4.107 (talk) 00:05, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
