Category talk:Afghan anti-communists

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Someone just added added Abdurrahim Wardak to Category:Afghani anti-communists. Could someone please place an overall explanation of who should belong in this category?

Dozens, perhaps as many as one hundred, of the Guantanamo captives are being held, in part, because they learned how to be guerilla fighters when they fought against communism, during the Soviet invasion.

Should they all be added to Category:Afghani anti-communists?

I raised a different question when someone was taking individuals out of Category:Afghan politicians and adding them to Category:Politicians of Afghanistan. My correspondent explained that citizens of Afghanistan, who aren't from the Pashtun ethnic group, don't apply the description "Afghani" to themselves. I hadn't known that. It sounds like an important point.

You raise an interesting question, and I'm not sure how to answer. Nit Abdurrahim Wardak was added because he was the leader of the Mujahideen, and was also a participant in the "Democratic International" conference in Angola with Jonas Savimbi, the Contra leader, etc. Josh 20:15, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
