[edit] speedy on methoxypropane

I have added a hangon to methoxypropane. The article has an importance tag, and an expert tag, people are working on this backlog. Part of the discussion can be found in the wikiproject notability, and on wikiproject chemicals. Hope this explains. --Dirk Beetstra T C 17:09, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Auschwitz

Hi. To answer your question; because previous requests under this policy have been declined.--Anthony.bradbury 21:08, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] My username

I think I need to be part of a FAQ :-) See this Kuro5hin article. - Ta bu shi da yu 22:28, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

I'm afraid that my username is a bit misleading. I can say about 3 or 4 phrases in Mandarin (one of them very rude!), but I never got far with study. As I'm now married into a Lebanese family, I'm going to learn Arabic next :-) Maybe one day I'll come back to it! - Ta bu shi da yu 03:26, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Tone of responses

Hi there. Excuse me for being blunt, but your 2 responses to lumberjack here seem a mite churlish. My philosophy is, if you're going to answer a question anyway, there's nothing to be gained by doing so in what might be interpreted as a mean-spirited manner that could well have the effect of turning people away from this fabulous resource. Not everyone is as skilled at searching for information as others are. I note you've been a Wikipedian for only 3 months or so. I've been on this site since December 2003 and I have almost 11,000 edits to my name, but it wasn't immediately clear to me where to go to find the information lumberjack was after. All the very best. JackofOz 04:31, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Talk: President of the United States

Regarding your responses to a user who posed a question under section entitled: "Presidential term":

I am sure your responses to this user were with good intentions, but this seems like a harsh attitude to take for a legitimate question. If you don't like to look up things for people, simply don't. The question was not posed TO YOU. If somebody doesn't know how to, have the time to, or want to look it up themselves, why can't they just post the question on a talk page? There are plenty of other editors who would be more than happy to answer such a question.

Looking at your user page I notice you chose to put the trifecta userbox on it, which includes a link to " Don't be a dick" essay. I am not accusing you of anything, but when I read that essay, It reminds me not to be unnecessarily terse or blunt to other users. You may find it does the same for you. [edit] Whelan's Infraction

The intention of the wiki, Whelan's Infraction, was to educate. As a medical student, my knowledge base grows daily with pathologies that are very real and some which are extremely rare. In the case of the condition known as Whelan’s Infraction, there is no such disease. Those that are not privy to accessing the Annals of Neurology may find what I wrote to be of great use. However, we medical students have very little time to monitor our posts and continue to nourish them with constant updates to every suggestion. To this, I am sure that many of the users of Wikipedia would reply, “Then don’t post!” I believe that the sharing of information is the last individual commodity, we have, in this globalized world. Aervanath, you make yourself unavailable to email, which I do not disagree, is a good thing. However, rather than removing the myriad of posts, which you deem incomplete or inappropriate, write some of your own. In this I am quoting an old adage; It is much easier to be a critic than a painter. My intentions were noble -- you are acting as dictator of what is acceptable, which in itself is not.Coagulase 23:07, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
