[edit] Major work needed

This article needs a major overhaul.

  • The intro is a slightly-modified copyvio (source) so it should be completely rewritten.
  • The whole article is compromised by non-encyclopedic tone and POV.
  • There are no references supporting any claims.

I don't mind doing this, but I'm afraid I'd probably hack it back to stub status. Anyone else feel like diving in? Wyatt Riot (talk) 12:55, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

Wyatt Riot - We would love to fix them but I know I am an amatuer user of wiki's and am just learning about what and how to write them. Could you let us know specific examples of the problems? For example... whats copyvio and that can't happen?Gbear14275 (talk) 14:48, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
Copyvio means copyright violation. The introduction was essentially copied from the site I linked and has only been modified slightly. It needs to be rewritten to be original work. The remainder of the article should be rewritten to show a neutral point of view and sound less like an advertisement. It also needs verifiable, reliable sources. As it stands, pretty much the entire article could be deleted for violating policies regarding original research.
Those are some of the fundamentals. I've also added a welcome message on your user page with some links to additional policies and guidelines. Thank you for joining and I hope you enjoy your time here.  :) Wyatt Riot (talk) 15:28, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
Wyatt Thanks for the help! I'll be looking through those as soon as I can. I do have one question about copyright though. We have permission from the copyright holder to post that information... how do we best show this or is it not allowed that copyrighted material be posted even if permission is obtained?Gbear14275 (talk) 16:45, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
That's kind of a sticky subject. Every edit to Wikipedia is licensed under the GFDL, which is an open-source license. If you're pasting in copyrighted material, even with permission, you're essentially watering down the owners' rights. If I wrote a story, for instance, and then published it on Wikipedia, I would essentially be saying that it's fair game for others to build on freely. That's probably not something that this copyright holder wants so it's best to rewrite it all in your own words and then provide a link to your reference. You can read more about this at Wikipedia:Copyrights. Wyatt Riot (talk) 16:53, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

Silverbbbbb- Nothing we put is copyright violation since the one who now owns the game told us to put up this page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Silverbbbbb (talkcontribs) 18:07, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

Unfortunately, it's still against Wikipedia policy. Unless you're saying that the person/people who own the copyright are willing to release their intellectual property as GFDL into the public domain, which I doubt you are. Wyatt Riot (talk) 18:14, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
They're telling you to put up the page, and their release of intellectual property are two different subjects. If they truly want to release their work under the GFDL, they need to post that on their website where it can be linked from Wikipedia (to support verifiability). Until then, Wikipedia's copyright policy mandates how we interpret copyright. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 18:31, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

I agree, I am responsible for referencing and editing of all normative statements once the page has been edited out, at the moment people keep adding and deleting stuff so it is a bit hard. Don't worry I shall get on it and make sure it is up to academic standard , Having said that there is no academic work on this game per se. Statements made on this page can only be referenced using the various limited work available on this game. Regardless we will keep editing and the tone will be evened out. Can this page be locked? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Burama Bull (talkcontribs) 07:44, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

Is there a reason to lock it? Also, please remember to sign your comments on talk pages using 4 tildes (~~~~). Wyatt Riot (talk) 13:01, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Notability

I recommend finding additional reliable sources for documenting the article, this entire article is currently based solely on content from the game publisher. As it stands, the article has failed to establish the notability for inclusion in Wikipedia, and could be in danger of either Speedy G11 or if disputed then it could be subject to an AfD for failing to establish notability. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 16:47, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
