Advertising Association

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

According to itself, the Advertising Association (AA) is a federation of 31 trade bodies and organisations representing the advertising and promotional marketing industries including advertisers, agencies, media and support services in the United Kingdom.[1]

The AA has, in the past, consulted with the Committee of Advertising Practice (CAP) and the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) over issues, such as when it feels the ASA has set a precedent for decision that the AA considers to be overly restrictive.

The AA is funded by donations, fund-raising events and subscriptions that the trade bodies and organisations that form the AA pay.

Baroness Peta Buscombe is chief executive of the association. The AA is currently restructuring and redirecting.[2]
