The Advance Australia Party (AAP) is a minor political party in Australia, formed in an attempt to provide an alternative for those voters disillusioned with the free-market "economic rationalist" policies pursued by both the Liberal and Labor parties. It was registered on 14 July 1989, but deregistered by the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) on 5 December 2005 for failing to endorse a candidate in the previous four years.
As of 2006, the President of AAP is Rex Connor Jnr, the son of former Whitlam Government Minister, Rex Connor.
