[edit] Disambig Page
I know the policy that you're citing, but a disambig page is more appropriate here. Jauerback 19:41, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
- It makes the new or casual person, that comes to Wikipedia, learn the fact that there are TWO Adrian Peterson running backs in the NFL. It intellectualizes them to this fact. They see two, and have to ingest this fact, and then make a choice of which one they want. In some cases it will make them go back and look at the other one, thus expanding their knowledge. And, isn't that one of the main purposes of an encyclopedia? ~ WikiDon 21:18, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

- The point of disambiguation pages is not to educate ("intellectualize") new or casual people looking for one thing. In this case, it appears that Adrian L. Peterson is the primary topic of Adrian Peterson, and Adrian Peterson should redirect to Adrian L. Peterson. A hatnote to Adrian N. Peterson would be added (except that it already exists), which would serve the purpose of "intellectualizing" casual readers with the new data without giving readers who already know or don't care the "speed bump" of a base-name dab when there is a primary topic. -- JHunterJ 11:52, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

- Even so, this disambiguation page is malplaced, as Adrian Peterson itself should be the disambiguation page. I will be making a request shortly to move the page. --AEMoreira042281 15:25, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

- No, this disambig is properly placed for a name with a primary topic. -- JHunterJ 00:24, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
