From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Adriel T. Desautels is an information security practitioner. In May 2000, he founded Secure Network Operations, Inc. and the SNOsoft Research Team. Desautels has worked in network defense and penetration testing, design and architecture of IDS and IPS technologies, computer forensic research, and acted as an expert witness in U.S. Federal Court.

At Secure Network Operations, Desautels created Apex Network Vulnerability Intrusion Logger (ANVIL), a Security Information Management System. ANVIL used data inputs from various sources to identify malicious or unauthorized network usage. Anvil was later acquired by a private third party.[citation needed]

In 2001-2002, Desautels and his business partner Kevin Finisterre uncovered and exposed more than 20 vulnerabilities in HP Tru64 Unix. As a result, SNOsoft was confronted with a DMCA threat.

Desautels is currently the Chief Technology Officer and founding partner at Netragard, LLC. His primary responsibilities involve the maintenance of Netragard's service methodologies, the management of Netragard's Exploit Acquisition Program, and the continued management of the SNOsoft Research Team.
