Adobe Acrobat Connect (formerly Macromedia Breeze) is software used to create information and general presentations, online training materials, web conferencing, learning modules, and user desktop sharing. The product is entirely Adobe Flash based. All meeting workspaces are organized into 'pods'; with each pod performing a specific role (i.e. chat, whiteboard, note, etc.). The recommended database for backend support is Microsoft SQL Server. The product can be licensed as an installed product, or a hosted product.
Adobe Acrobat Connect is part of the Adobe Acrobat family.
The former Macromedia Breeze included four applications: Breeze Presenter, Breeze Training, Breeze Meeting, and Breeze Events. Following the acquisition by Adobe, Macromedia Breeze Meeting is now rebranded as Adobe Acrobat Connect Professional, and includes rebranded versions of Breeze Training, Breeze Meeting and Breeze Events. Acrobat Connect Professional features the following in addition to Acrobat Connect:

[edit] History and marketplace competition
Prior to September 2006 and being added to the Acrobat family of Adobe products, Adobe Connect was Macromedia Breeze. [1] It was renamed after Adobe's purchase of former competitor Macromedia. The following lists the rebranded Breeze products:
- Breeze is now Adobe Acrobat Connect Professional
- Breeze Training is now Adobe Connect Training (part of Adobe Acrobat Connect Professional)
- Breeze Events is now Adobe Connect Events (part of Adobe Acrobat Connect Professional)
- Breeze Presenter is now Adobe Presenter (part of Adobe Acrobat Connect Professional)
- Breeze Server is now Adobe Connect Enterprise Server
- Breeze Edge Server is now Adobe Connect Edge Server
This product competes with Microsoft Live Meeting and is designed for creating live presentations that can also be replayed "on demand". This product's audience is similar to that of Macromedia Captivate.
