The common term "shock" to the best of my knowledge refers to this condition, which I mentioned here (see also the top section of Talk:Shock (medical)). I added that and acute stress disorder (a term that's more common on google, but doesn't have an ICD code - is it the official term somewhere, IE the American term, an obsolete name, a variant disorder with a different definition, or simply a layman term?), as alternate names.
