Should this be merged with Deactivating groups, into a larger benzene substituents. I only ask this because this is a very incomplete article and are nearly identical related to each other in mechanism.

Yeah, I think it should, most organic chem books I've seen have them together. Maybe a new page called Activating and deactivating groups or something? Davejack (talk) 00:07, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
