[edit] Proposed merge

I'm suggesting to merge the section on acrosome reaction from the spermatozoon article in here. - tameeria (talk) 22:57, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

The acrosome reaction is very complex, and i think a separate article should be preserved. This would allow a thorough discussion of biochemical and cellular signalling events which facilitate the acrosome reaction. At the moment this article is lacking such information, but when it is added it will probably be far too large to be merged into the spermatozoon article. Snellios (talk) 13:19, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
I've now edited the spermatozoon article to include information about full sperm activation rather than just the acrosomal reaction, which doesnt technically include hyperactivation. I think it would be a mistake to merge acrosome reaction into spermatozoa for the reasons above, and also because it is not the whole story. Snellios (talk) 13:34, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
