All photos from New York Public Library are copyrighted NYPL and must be authorised by them and purchased! Even for academic use. Unfortunately, several of the great photos uploaded by Stbalbach come from this source. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jeltje (talk • contribs).

I don't think that is correct. These photos are over 100 years old. No one can copyright them. -- Stbalbach 17:49, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
