Talk:Ace

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

suite: in Britain it's called a suit. Is suite an accepted spelling elsewhere? -- Heron

I could have spelled it wrong -- GABaker

How could there have been a Soviet ace during the Vietnam War? Surely if Russian airmen were shooting at Americans, it would have become an act of war? -- Zoe

There were Soviet 'advisors' flying with the NVPAF. This happened in Korea, as well, and in the Arab-Israeli wars, but I haven't added those scores in yet. -- GABaker

[edit] Empty table

Is there ever gonna be anything in that last table "Highest Number Victories of Persian Gulf War"? --Menchi 20:16 24 Jun 2003 (UTC)

[edit] Can you explain??

What is the history of the rule of bridge that the ace is the highest card?? Do any entries at Wikipedia have it??

[edit] 1 on an Ace in french decks

Never seen this. Remove? -- anonymous coward @ 84.60.94.101 (talk) 18:34, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

I've seen it on real decks. I'm sure a reference can be found somewhere for it. :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Danjel (talkcontribs) 17:33, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

This is certainly true. I'm so confident I almost removed the citation needed but couldn't be bothered. I've even got a deck of french cards in front of me now where the aces are all 1s. I could probably upload a picture if needed. Gytrash (talk) 01:27, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
