Acentronichthys leptos is the only species of catfish (order Siluriformes) in the genus Acentronichthys of the family Heptapteridae.[1] This species originates from coastal streams in Brazil from Rio de Janeiro to Santa Catarina State, and in São Mateus, Espírito Santo State.[1] This species grows up to about 4.9 centimetres (1.9 in) SL.[2]
