[edit] Summary
An AC-130H Spectre Gunship approaches the runway at Hurlburt Field during regular training. The 105mm canon can be seen to the far right underneath the wing protruding from the gunship. The 40mm cannon is located directly to the left of the 105mm. The 20mm cannons were removed from the Spectre and in their place are two small windows located just behind the cockpit. Since the beginning of Operation Iraqi Freedom, the Spectre's are primarily used for support in Afghanistan, while the "U" model Spooky gunships are used primarily in Iraq.
