Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo

The Asociación Civil Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo (Civil Association of Grandmothers of the Plaza de Mayo) is a non-governmental organization whose purpose is to locate the children kidnapped during the era of political repression in Argentina (1976-1983), to restore these children to their legitimate families, to prosecute those responsible for their disappearance, and to prevent similar human rights violations from happening in the future.
