Life mask of Abraham Lincoln on display at the Lincoln Memorial. The description displayed with the mask is as follows:

Abraham Lincoln sat for the original of this life mask in the Chicago studio of sculptor Leonard Volk in the spring of 1860. Daniel Chester French studied the mask, as well as other statues, drawings, and photographs of Lincoln, before creating a likeness that expressed both power and gentleness.
