[edit] Description
[edit] Appearance
This breed has coarse hair that requires grooming. The shoulder-height coat is 25-30 centimeters, or 9-11 inches.[1] The coat is usually black, but sometimes there will be brown and grey marks.[1]
[edit] Temperament
Some words to describe the Abruzzenhund could be friendly, smart and alert.[1] They can also learn commands easily, however when training, you should vary the types of drills so your dog doesn't become bored.[1]
[edit] Children and the Abruzzenhund temperament
The Abruzzenhund gets along well with children, since they make good household pets.[1] However, when visitors arrive at your home the dog will become very protective, and may not let them in unless the visitor reassures them.[1]
[edit] Care
[edit] Grooming
The coat of the Abruzzenhund may need plucking. If you do not wish to bring your dog to a groomer, you can do it yourself. By clipping the hair, it will become damaged for years.[1] Also, if you notice hair around the eyes, something should be done about it immediately.[1]
