Abraham Lincoln University

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Abraham Lincoln University is an educational institution specializing in legal education. The classes are given through the Internet, and upon the completion, students are awarded a Juris Doctor degree and become eligible to sit for the California bar exam. However, this institution is not, and cannot be accredited by the American Bar Association [1] nor is it accredited by the California Committee of Bar Examineers. [2] Therefore, students at this institution must take and pass the "Baby Bar" after the first year of law study. Failure of the "Baby Bar" results in student ineligibility to take more advanced law courses or to take the State Bar Examination. [3]

[edit] Bar pass rate

In October 2006, one hundred-thirteen students took the California First Year Law Students Examination (the "Baby Bar") for the first time. Twenty-two passed. Fifty-nine students took this examination after previously failing it at least once. Eleven passed. [4]

In the July 2006 California Bar Examination, sixteen graduates took the examination for the first time. None passed. Thirty took the examination for, at least, a second time after previously failing it. Two passed. [5]
