Abi Fry
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Abi Fry is a Brighton-based violist, playing with various bands including The Flowers of Hell, Spaceline, Bat For Lashes and British Sea Power.
Fry played viola on British Sea Power's second album, Open Season, and has performed live with them a number of times. Most notably, she played on the Club Sea Power tour of November 2005, playing on a few songs including "Fakir", "True Adventures", and "Rock in A".
In April 2006, Fry performed at British Sea Power's first concert since the departure of Eamon Hamilton, playing on a number of other songs, including "Carrion" and "The Spirit of St. Louis", effectively replacing Hamilton's keyboard parts.
In 2007 Abi has toured extensively with Bat For Lashes including Europe and the United States.[1]. On September 4, 2007 she played with the band at the Mercury Prize finals in London. Bat For Lashes were the bookies' favourite to win, but they were pipped at the post by The Klaxons.[2].
Abi's last concert with Bat For Lashes was on October 29, 2007 at Koko in London - after that she toured for three weeks with British Sea Power, and since then has made several more appearances with the band.
From Feb to May 2008 Abi is on tour with British Sea Power in North America. She has also joined sometime opening act Jeffrey Lewis on stage - adding violin arrangement to his acoustic guitar-based performances.
