[edit] Thesis
This page aims to gather evidence for testing the following propositions:
- Wikipedia is run amok by known and unknown sockpuppets of User:Abecedare
- The Abe number of any established editor§ is upper-bounded by 7. (cf. Six degrees of separation and Erdős number)
[edit] Demographics and evidence
| Abe number | User | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | Abecedare | - |
| 1 | Dbachmann aka Dab# | DWhiskaZ's testimony, confession by Abe |
| Rudrasharman aka rudra# | DWhiskaZ's testimony†, Mianji's testimony | |
| User:Redrocket | Mianji's testimony | |
| User:Relata refero | confession by RR‡ |
[edit] Notes
- § : For the sake of this study, an established editor is defined to be one who has ever been accused of being a sock-puppet(eer). It can be further postulated that as
, all users gain the status of "established editors", but that would be the subject of another study. - # : It is noteworthy that many Abe socks use aliases to hide their true user identity.
- † : The evidence is not clear on whether Rudra is accused of being Dab's sock, or Abecedare's. I'll give the benefit of doubt and award him Abe number of 1.
- ‡ : I realize that users may be tempted to game the system and confess in order to enhance their Abe number, and therefore such confessions cannot always be trusted.
