Abdullah Baybasin was at the helm of a £25 billion heroin empire based in North London until British newspapers leaked information alluding to the fact that he was given preferencial treatment because he was acting as an informant for customs. He has since been convicted of drug charges involving up to 5.5 pounds (2.5 kg) of heroin. His brother Huseyin is also serving a life sentence in Holland on drug-related charges.
