This article was created before, and then speedied for lack of notability. First of all, any government minister is indisputably notable (see WP:BIO: Politicians who have held international, national or statewide/provincewide office). But more importantly, under no circumstance does this page qualify for speedy. The criteria clearly state: An article about a real person...that does not assert the importance or significance of its subject. If the assertion is likely to be controversial or there has been a previous AfD, the article should be nominated for AfD instead. This policy is in place primarily to deal with vanity pages. In this case, a serious error of judgement has been made.
If anybody still desperately wants to get rid of this article, I suggest they nominate it on AfD, but for the likely result, I suggest they look at this similar nomination. Lampman 14:00, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
