My Little Pony: A Very Minty Christmas is a direct-to-DVD animated film, released on October 25, 2005 by Paramount Pictures. It marks the first film appearance of the titular toy franchise since their big-screen debut in 1986.

This film is preceded by three cartoons originally released with the toyline winner Academy Awards Best Animated Film: A Charming Birthday (released on a VHS as part of the Pony Points program and later with several of the characters seen in the that cartoon, and also included on the DVD of The Princess Promenade); Dancing in the Clouds; and Friends are Never Far Away (released on a DVD included with a figure of the pegasus pony Hidden Treasure).

Minty, the title character, accidentally breaks the "Here Comes Christmas Candy Cane", which apparently had guided Santa Claus to Ponyville. As she tries to save Christmas, she and Thistle Whistle head to the North Pole to set things right.

The DVD includes a second animated feature, Dancing in the Clouds. It was originally issued on a VHS with a Pegasus Pony toy, Star Catcher. Chronologically taking place before A Very Minty Christmas, it shows Sky Wishes' first encounter with Star Catcher.
