A Secret Wish was the 1985 debut album of synthpop band Propaganda. It was produced by Stephen Lipson and Trevor Horn. The album shares many of the characteristics of other early-'80s ZTT releases, especially in the groundbreaking use of synthesizers, such as the Fairlight CMI. The singles "Duel" and "Dr. Mabuse" were both successful UK chart hits. The track "p:Machinery" was also released as a single and was featured in an episode of the 80's TV Show Miami Vice.

"Dream Within A Dream" has the lyrics of the poem "A Dream Within A Dream" by Edgar Allan Poe. "The Last Word" is an instrumental remix of "Dr. Mabuse". "Strength To Dream" is the opening line from "Dream Within A Dream".
